About Us
This section is all about the Lincoln Public Safety Foundation, what we do, and what our goals are.
Making our community safer and a better place to live by supporting our local first responders including the Lincoln Police and Lincoln Fire departments.
Captain John J. Sax, a Placer County resident and former Lincoln Airport Flight Instructor, always wanted to be a pilot. As a devoted husband and loving father, Captain Sax was a skilled pilot, a Certified Flight Instructor, a holder of an Aeronautical Science degree, and a proud US Marine. After extensive flight training in the Marine Corps, Captain Sax was assigned to the Purple Foxes to fly the MV-22B Osprey out of Camp Pendleton. In June 2022, Captain Sax and four other Marines were tragically killed while conducting training in Southern California.
The City of Lincoln is honoring Captain Sax’s service to our country and ultimate sacrifice by constructing a memorial at the Lincoln Airport. The Lincoln Public Safety Foundation is fundraising to assist in paying for this memorial.
