LPSF Donates TruNarc Narcotics Analyzer

The Lincoln Public Safety Foundation (LPSF), a 501C non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the needs of first responders, announced a significant milestone at the Lincoln City Council meeting held on Tuesday, March 12th, 2024. LPSF proudly revealed the acquisition and donation of a state-of-the-art TruNarc handheld narcotics analyzer to the Lincoln Police Department.

In its commitment to bridging the gap between limited budgets and the critical requirements of our heroes on the front lines, LPSF has taken a proactive step in equipping our first responders with the latest tools essential for their duties. The TruNarc handheld narcotics analyzer, valued at forty thousand dollars, stands as a testament to LPSF’s dedication to enhancing the capabilities of our law enforcement professionals.

The TruNarc analyzer, renowned for its portability and lab-standard accuracy, enables officials to identify over 530 suspected drugs, including the potent and dangerous substance, fentanyl. This cutting-edge technology empowers our officers with the ability to swiftly and accurately detect narcotics, thereby enhancing public safety and safeguarding our communities.

The generosity of LPSF knows no bounds, thanks to the tireless efforts of its esteemed members, including President Kris Knutson, Vice President Jeff Demure, Treasurer Jan Bedwell, Communications Secretary Richard Buss, Board Secretary Renee Maldonado, and board members Helen Johnson, Barb Morebeck, David Ibarra, Chuck Schmidt, Scott Goin, Billy Hartley, Mark Macias, and Denise Alves.

With a vision to continually support our first responders, LPSF is actively engaged in fundraising efforts to fulfill its ambitious goals, including the procurement of a Forcible Training Unit, MedCat Ambulance, Honor Guard Uniforms and Accessories, and the establishment of a K9 Program.

“We are immensely proud to contribute to the safety and well-being of our community by providing our first responders with the tools they need to excel in their vital roles,” remarked President Kris Knutson. “This donation of the TruNarc analyzer is just one example of our ongoing commitment to supporting the brave men and women who serve and protect Lincoln.”
