Board Members
Kris Knutson
President
Kris Knutson is a retired educator of thirty-seven years. He spent the last twenty-two years educating the students of Lincoln in the Western Placer Unified School District as both a principal and a teacher. Kris is very involved in the Lincoln Community. He is a twenty year member of the Lincoln Host Lions Club and serves on several boards in the community. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Business and Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara and his Masters Degree in Education from National University in Sacramento.
Jeff Demure
Vice President
Jeffrey DeMure is a pilot and property owner based at Lincoln Regional Airport. He brings multifaceted perspective to the board drawing from his experience as an architect, entrepreneur, author, and commercial pilot. Jeff has a lifelong passion for community service, particularly supporting those who protect public safety. He provides valued leadership, ideation, and problem-solving skills to advance the foundation’s mission. Jeff graduated from the University of Arizona and has four children with his wife of over 30 years.
Jan Bedwell
Treasurer
Jan retired from a 42 year banking career
in 2015 as a Senior Vice President at Wells Fargo Bank. She worked in the International Division for the majority of her career as a Project Manager and Manager of the Technology Division. She also worked for a short while with Union Bank of California as a Project Manager. Since her retirement, Jan has been volunteering with several community and school organizations.
Barb Morebeck
Board Member
Barb Morebeck is currently an Education Specialist with South Sutter Charter School, supporting homeschooling families. She spent 15 years in the classroom with Placer County Office of Education and Western Placer Unified School District before moving to a public charter school. Barb is a volunteer at the Foundry Youth Center on campus at Glen Edwards Middle School, as well as the Ignite program at Emmaus Church Community. Barb moved to Lincoln in 1999 and has raised her 3 children with her husband of 20 years in rural Lincoln.
Helen Johnson
Board Member
We moved to Lincoln in 2007. I have a degree in Medical Assisting and worked for 17 years in the medical field. Randy retired as a Fire Capitan after 34 years of
service. Randy and I opened Lincoln Gun Exchange in 2009. I was one of the founding members of the current Downtown Lincoln Association. I have also volunteered in other organizations since moving to Lincoln, such as, the Woman’s Club of Lincoln, PALS, and Kiwanis Club of Lincoln. We have two wonderful boys, Nick and Wes, who gave us two impressive grandsons, Kale and Noah.
Scott Goin
Board Member
Sergeant Scott Goin brings a wealth of experience to our team, with 20 years of law enforcement experience. Sergeant Goin lateraled to the Lincoln Police Department in 2018, and currently serves the Department as a patrol supervisor. During his career Sergeant Goin has held the positions of patrol officer, field training officer, narcotics investigator, canine handler, and corporal. Sergeant Goin has lived in Lincoln since 2009 and is a graduate of Leadership Lincoln.
David Ibarra
Board Member
David Ibarra retired as a patrol sergeant in 2020 after a 30-year career with the Lincoln Police Department. David worked in a variety of assignments, but he feels specially honored to have served a Lincoln Community that took care of him as a young man. David is a Lincoln High School graduate, and he earned a bachelor’s degree in vocational arts from California State University, Long Beach. David and his girlfriend, Maria now enjoy retirement on their small farm in rural Lincoln.
Mark Macias
Board Member
My name is Mark Macias. I am a retired Fire Captain with the Lincoln Fire Department and I’m proud to have serve the citizens of Lincoln for over 21 years. I have been a resident of Lincoln for over 45 years and have close family ties here. I am excited and proud to serve on the Lincoln Public Safety Foundation Committee and I’m eager to utilize my experience in the fire service to help ensure that the hard-working dedicated professionals of the police and fire department receive the best equipment and training available to them, so that they may safely continue to serve this growing community.
Matt Alves
Board Member
Chief Alves grew up in the City of Lincoln and began his career in public safety as a volunteer firefighter with the California Department of Forestry in 1994. He began his law enforcement career in 1999 as a dispatcher with the Lincoln Police Department. With his 24 years of law enforcement experience, he has been assigned to nearly every unit, including communications, patrol, investigations, and administration. In 2021 he was appointed to Public Safety Chief, serving as the City’s Chief of Police and Fire Chief.
